Our ancestors had to get up to the pastures not only in summer but also in winter to check on the animals and the huts. The way was long and difficult: Again and again they sank deep into the snow. They used twigs and branches and furs to build snowshoes: Thanks to their large footprint the snow beneath their feet did not compact as deeply and it became easier to move on. Today snowshoe hiking is a pleasant and peaceful way of enjoying winter and nature. Give it a try!
Exploring the surrounding area on winter hiking paths cleared of snow and enjoying the sunshine on your face is also fun. Our tip: Enjoy the refreshments in one of our huts!
